The lower panoramic views are each from the lower ninth ward, where the flooding was most devastating. In the center shot, you can see where the 17th street levee is being repaired. Even with these panoramic views, it's impossible to convey the complete wreck of the entire neighborhood. These were taken on April 15, 2006 and recovery of human remains is ongoing even at that date. Never again will I see a terrible event played out on TV without remembering there are real people being hurt and real places being destroyed. | |
